Jacona Valley Vineyard is a small family-owned vineyard
located 20 miles north of Santa Fe in one of the oldest winemaking
regions in North America. It is situated between Pojoaque and San
Ildefonso tribal lands in an area once known as the Jacona Land
Grant, a 46,000 acre parcel of land granted by the Spanish crown
to its settlers in 1702.
The vineyard is planted exclusively in pinot noir vines.
This thin-skinned and finicky vinifera grows best in cool climates
characterized by relatively short growing seasons. At an elevation
of 5,700 feet, Jacona Valley's cool summer nights and brilliantly
sunny days provide ideal conditions for growing outstanding pinot
noir.
Although there is no tasting room at this time, Trey
and Blair Naylor invite you to visit their vineyard for tours and
purchases in the hope that you will find their wine to be as remarkable
as the valley in which it is grown. Please call ahead for an appointment
or email jaconavalleyvineyard@msn.com
for more information.
