Located on the western edge of the old village
of Placitas, Anasazi Fields Winery is surrounded by orchards
watered by a spring-fed irrigation system that dates back
more than a thousand years to a time when the Anasazi people
farmed the Placitas Valley.
Vintner Jim Fish and his partners produce fine,
dry table wines by a slow cool, sugar-starved fermentation
of whole, fresh New Mexico fruits and berries. In addition,
they produce two dry grape-based wines and an off-dry cranberry
wine for the holiday season. All of the wines are aged on
oak for two to three years before bottling.
A wine club is available for convenient access
to these unusual wines as well as a cookbook for pairing them
with food.
Open for tours, tasting and sales: noon to 5
pm, Wednesday through Sunday. During January, February, and
March, open weekends or during the week by appointment only.
