Don Quixote Winery to be Featured on Sirius/XM's "Martha Stewart Living" this Thursday February 4, 2010.
Ron Dolin, owner of Don Quixote Winery in Los Alamos, NM, has found his claim to fame by producing some truly unique and distinctively New Mexico products.
This week's radio broadcast will highlight 3 of Dolin's creations...Don Quixote's Blue Corn Vodka, Spirit of Santa Fe Gin and Pisco.
Pisco is the national drink of Chile and Puru and the most popular spirit in South America. While both countries are currently in world court arguing over who can claim Pisco the irony is that centuries before Pisco was made in South America, it was being produced in New Mexico as a base for Angelica.
Pisco was also the most popular spirit in the gold camps of the Southwest. " We decided to make Pisco because it is native to NM, because it is made from Muscat grapes and the Muscat grows so well in NM. We are the only distillery in America making Pisco and next to our Blue Corn Vodka is our best selling spirit." says Dolin.
